Get started in the right direction
How to find the right information for your assignments:
Pathfinders are simply information guides on specific topics that help you get started on your class assignments. The pathfinders listed here will point you to websites, books, and databases available at the Altadena Library. Each guide will also give you suggested keywords and phrases to use to search for more information in the Library's catalog and on the Internet.
Homework Skills
Research indicates that children with good typing skills demonstrate improved language arts skills overall. Learning to type requires time, patience, persistence, practice, and good instruction. "Hunting and Pecking" and other self-taught methods are hard to correct if they are allowed to continue for too long. Here are some websites to help improve your typing skills.
- Keyboarding Practice
- The BBC's Dance Map Typing
- Typing Master Free online typing games.
- More free typing games from Learning Games for Kids.
